I wish we are like that. Can be cloudy for weeks straight or rain with sleet. No rhyme or reason up here.

We've been hit with snow a few times, but it moves out quickly as well. Start the day fully clothed and by noon you're looking for trees to hang your stuff on cuz it's gotten so warm.

Bow hunting starts here in 2 weeks. I don't bow hunt though. I'd rather duck hunt, but haven't done too much of that the past few years.

For me, hunting really is only a few weeks. At first, it's hot and the woods are thick with leaves, tall grasses, and a gazillion mosquitos. So when that changes, it's only a few weeks and then most seasons have ended for the year.

I much more enjoy walking the woods from December - March, it's quiet, hardly any people out, and the wildlife is not so spooked.

I won't bow hunt. Way too hot up here for that.

Last 5-8 years, Sept/Oct has been too hot, nothing moving and the mosquitoes are horrendous. Hopefully this freeze tonite will kill off a bunch. Usually we hunt in the morning, sleep in the afternoon cause its too hot and then out till sundown.

Too much snow in Dec to Mar to walk around. Well usually.

That's about how we do it, Tim. Every now and then I'll stay out all day find a likely area and sit down. Amazing how much game moves during the day.

Yeah, some years we've gotten a lot of snow too, but I can usually walk the frozen river. And then I can see all the trespassers leaving snowmobile tracks all over.

We were hunting just west of Boulder the weekend before 9/11 and our camp got crushed by snow.
