I just got a new air filter and discovered the bolts for the mounting plate were loose. Tightened them up and hoping that was all that was causing it. I need to do extensive ride testing but between the weather, werk and family I ain't gonna have much of a chance

The metal around one of the mounting holes on the old air filter broke/tore(?) when I removed it when i was PlastiDipping the covers. That's when I discovered the loose mounting bolts. I retightened the bolts and got a new filter

Thanks guys, bike runs fine but it'd be nice to know what's going on.

I'll check filter also and codes, bringing to the dealer with an intermittent problem isn't something I want to do.

Al, mine runs well too. No degradation in how it runs when the light comes on, thus no recovery in performance when the light goes off.

Maybe it is a "Buy a new bike" warning light. I wonder if my wife will fall for that

Make sure you get a video of that conversation.

Greg, I can start the video recording but someone will have to stop and post it since I will most likely get crowned with a cast iron skillet. Mick, that would be a "comal"!
