Very well explained.... I know people who have had bad experiences with front ends after trailering them pulled down to tight....
the other issue with not collapsing them down enough (not using a block) is that you give the suspension a chance to "cycle" while trailering and that can loosen, break, or even cause the straps to unhook. no way I want to take a chance with my 800+ lb motorcycle.

Yuup.... hauled many of them and I strap them down differently, never had a problem... I do not collapse the suspension...
