Gonna brag on my oldest boy for a sec....
No matter what my boys can say about me, they will always say their old man taught em a work ethic. I wanted them to make it in life, and I made their asses work, both at home, and during summers with me pouring concrete. My oldest, when he was around 18-19 really butted heads with me. I'm surprised I didn't lose my temper and take him down.
Fast forward a few years, he's the lead IT Tech at Midwestern State University. He not only sets up and builds entire computer systems for labs, he's networking, laying out systems for the University. They have what's similar to a City Council made up of a select few members of Faculty and Staff. His peers and Professors voted him onto the Council, where everything from budgets to construction to whatever pertains to the College is discussed.
I'm a proud Dad.

Thanks Larry, I appreciate that. We went for a jog a couple of years ago, and he thanked me for raising him right, told me he hoped to be half the man his Dad was. Never knew damn allergies could kick in while on a simple jog, but they sure as hell did...

Very cool Jack! One worries how kids will turn out theses days. One of my main concerns in life is the feet my boy lands on when he leaves the nest.
Lou, without wanting to be maudlin I can assure ya a little guy like your fella that is so involved with a great Mom and Dad, emphasis on the Dad part sorry Moms, is gonna be fine.
He is never gonna forget what your influence is. Trust me.

Hope so Mick. On a positive note mama got offered a part time job at his school. Was nominated by the teachers and staff! Now instead of just volunteering in the school she will be getting paid too!
