We haven't "forced them" anywhere. The coyote as a species didn't even exist in the eastern US until the early 1900's. The spread and population of the coyote has been an exponential explosion ever since. They are out of control in many areas.
The coyote is mainly a rodent eater, but is also an opportunistic feeder and will take anything it is capable of over-powering.

Knowing why these are pedators and what they are killing is not idiocy... just uninformed... people fee black bears then wonder why they break into their hoses, feed deer and wonder why all their shrubs disappear, feed raccoons which those bandits are really nasty little disease carriers....
