TOAK- Thread Of All Knowledge- Part V
The Divine Miss D is currently waiting tables at a mid/high end establishment. Makes I believe $7.50/hr plus tips. There is a "tip pool" where all servers pool their tips at the end of the night and it gets divvied up somehow. I think. Anyway, she is usually bringing home about $150/night in cash.
In general Tim, a 15% tip is considered "normal" for decent service and food. 20% for anything you might consider exceptional. I'm a relatively big tipper as I have worked in the service industry in my younger years and know how hard most of those people have/do to work.

No we have a shortage of drunken Native Canadians here, however when Jack and I visited Mick yesterday, I'm sure there was a drunken Native American somewhere in close proximity.

If there is a group of 8 or more, there is an automatic gratuity added to the bill. Is that normal down there?
Some restaurants add the gratuity, most not.

Drunken Native Canadians do not travel too far from their mother land. You should be good to go.
I ran into quite a few of those Canadians during extended stays in Goose Bay and St. John's. Couldn't leave any money on the bar or they would scoop it up and be gone.

But its supposed to be pretty there! One year, I'll make it there.
Tim, you might command a premium and a generous compensation package in Russ' neck of the woods.
