Back again.

Heated driveways up here do not work. Cost too much and hard on the concrete. Worse part is, it will melt the snow, then flow to the sidewalk (which is not heated), freeze and make a ridge, keeping the water on the driveway. Then we have the calcium and salt they throw on our roads that eats the concrete. Only thing that works up here is shovel the damn crap.

They use salt, calcium and gravel. Instead of plowing the highways when it snows, they drop that ****. And then they leave it on the road and not scrape it off. Its so bad that at -4F, water is running off the highways. Makes it fun to drive at night when the roads are soaking wet, black and your headlights are caked with mud. You can't see nothing.

And that's another reason I won't move to Montana near my in-laws. Got a job waiting if I ever want it though. Pass.

They plow here, but still use a ton of salt. Gubberment doesn't care how corrosion so as long as we keep buying new cars and trucks.

I don't think MT is as bad as far as salt use. But they do get a ton of snow.

Depends on the State I would think. BC barely uses salt as they feel it harms the environment.

Really? I loved Montana last year when we spent holidays around Bozeman.

I think they just man up and deal with it. Those people are nuts. Driving on an inch of ice like its nothing. All the cars just running in the parking lots. Crazy stuff.
