Hard part is that this is the fuel truck for all the heavy equipment on campus. Can't be down for more than a few days. If it goes **** up I have a 6.0 sitting on my table and I'd rather beef it up and just drop it in. Not going to put the OEM cooler back in. Can't do a egr delete either.

Head squirm is another known issue. Is why I recommend it.

Do a full 20 gallon distilled water coolant flush and then Xerex Z05 coolant. And if it hasn't been done, add a coolant filter.

I like good Ol green coolant. Not susceptible to air bubbles causing rot. I'm aware of the issues with the yeild to tourqe head bolts. Good thing this truck rarely goes above 40 mph. No 6.0 love here. If I could drop a Cummins in there I would.

I don't believe the green coolant is compatible, it will gel up and clog the cooling system, particularly the EGR cooler.
Just trying to pass on some lessons I learned the hard and very expensive way.
The 6.0 is a good motor after these issues are taken care of.

You are correct. It did come with green but I bought it used. I have the 6.0 bible and read up a lot on the forums. I'd love to make it bullet proof but not this week. I'd like to re locate the oil cooler but its frekkin 2k for the kit and can't find the parts individually.

I do like that it came with a factory 5 speed auto!

Sorry, Lou, don't mean to tell you anything you already know. My plan was to do the same thing with mine, but I didn't get the chance.
A Sinister coolant filter is about $150 off eBay and is highly regarded. Takes about a 1/2 hour to install.

Seen the sinister coolant filter. I'll get one. No offence taken. Us mechanics can be hard headed.
