TOAK- Thread Of All Knowledge- Part IV
Hahaha....every time Sherri picks up an item with no price tag she says that.
Morning Woods.
When I was working private security back in the 80's I was basically guarding coal mine officials. I carried or had access to three weapons at all times and a few toys as well.
I carried a Model 19 S&W back in those days as well as an Ithaca riot gun kept within reach in the vehicle with us. In an ankle holster I kept the cheapest piece of crap that would actually fire a round. That was my drop gun. As the Capt. said, "If you end u shooting some idiot and he doesn't have a gun, you give him one"
We also had caltrops to throw out on the road in case somebody was following with ill intentions.

...and the joggers, pedestrians, etc..
Never had to use them, but we kept a couple hundred in each vehicle.
Second week I was there, UMW went on strike and the Capt. was transporting two fellows from Diamond K Coal CO. back up toward Manchester KY. They we ambushed back in one of those narrow hollows. From the casing left at the scene, the state police figgered there were a total of three shooters involved. Guy in the back seat took a blast of 12ga. buckshot to the side if the head and died instantly. The Capt. took two rounds from a .303 one went through the door and calf of his left leg and into the console, The other went just under the skin of his stomach from the left side and ended up in the left thigh of the front seat passenger. The other shooter had a .30-06 and evidently his job was supposed to be disabling the vehicle so they could make sure the job was complete. He shot the **** out of the front part of the car and blew the passenger side front tire out, but the Capt. threw the hammer down on it and they managed to make it about a mile up the road to the coal tipple where the rest of us were waiting before the old Ford station wagon finally gave up the ghost.

Caltrops ... They used them here during the Newspaper strikes years ago. The delivery drivers were constantly getting flats. "Red" was a rural carrier ( Post Office ) and I'll bet that I plugged some of her tires 5 or 6 times each :

Be advised - if and when the Caltrops fail, always have your KUBOTAN Tactical Keychain handy. I'll bet that smarts............
Kinda reminds me of an old girlfriend.......well, she didn't know she was my girlfriend.
