Mornin, Stan. Participation Awards are good for my self esteem and I just know that later in life will be beneficial in competitive situations.

Mick, as a young buck in the 1970s I worked for a company that would put us through regular motivational sessions for salesman. Most were good some were so-so. I remember one presenter in particular who closed with the following statement, something to the effect of: "People, let's get out there and compete, and be winners. The rest of you at least please, show up!"
Edit: in the spirit of full disclosure, it was actually in the 1980s.....

Stan, rah-rah sessions last about as long as it takes to hit the parking lot. Motivation comes from within, not from without. (You may quote me) People have made hundreds of millions giving seminars, speeches, programs, etc. and will continue to do so until people figure that out.
