I have been only twice. Once to Cancun and once to Cozumel awesome both times.

Flew to Cancun with the family and spent a week there. Didn't want to come back. Saw a lot of the site although the money leeches got a bit old after the first day or two.
Went to Cozumel while on a cruise and we went to this "Mayan Village" sort of thing. While the wife was spending money in the shops I went walking around and found a history of tequila type exhibit. Not a soul there but the guy who was giving the tour and me. I slipped him a $10 bill and got a helluva tour.
