A temporary setback on the road to enlightenment. First time ever I didn't have to pay extra for that service, by the way.

Have been busy the last few days doing some house hunting. We have been looking for a small fixer upper. Now we are throwing around the idea of building a house that will be exactly the way that we want it. We wood do most of the work ourselves on that endeavor if that is the way that we go. Julia is VERY excited about the prospect of building our own!

Mike, there is a very successful company here called UBuildIt. Don't know exactly how the program works but apparently they act as a general contractor for the purposes of permits, applications, etc. and offer guidance. You, the homeowner, do most of the labor and finish work.

Their commercials are pretty slick and the people who use them make claims of saving 50, 60, 70k during building.
