TOAK- Thread Of All Knowledge- Part IV
Lou, no idea of plan name. House was built by a guy who was a contractorand had a lumberyard and mill and had money. He built it for himself. Town was named after his family. In over 100 years we're only the third owner.
Checkin' in Woods. Chores done for the day. Just have to take the youngest to a dentist appointment when he get's out of school.

I played from Pop Warner through HS, OL, and never missed more than one practice. Coached some in college and never saw any major injuries there either. Lucky I guess.
Over 100 years old and only the 3rd owner, now that's pretty cool.
Kinda cool that this pic of my '65 GTO was still on it. I had actually lost the copies of it I had on file.

Those kind of homes are works of art Al. Craftsman built and extremely rare these days!
Two previous millionaires owned it (when a million meant something), then me! ...Never any children, from what I heard, then me with 3 kids. last owner had a bath tub put in the basement for housekeeper to wash his poodle...
Yep..nice except when you start doing anytthing. When I remodeled the kitchen 20 years ago, Had to rip 2x6s and 2 x 8s to reframe windows. Dimensional lumber that we know didn't exist back then. Door moldings are 1x6 chestnut with vertical legs rounded over and flared at bottm, topped by small routed 1" lintel under 1x6 lintel, topped with crown molding. I scaled the size a little and made all my kitchen moldings to match out of poplar, since they were going to be painted. had to make all my window sills out of 5/4 oak and all my base moldings. Actually was a lot of fun.
