TOAK- Thread Of All Knowledge- Part IV
It's all cool and copacetic now
No pity parties here Mick. It is what it is and you play the cards you're dealt.
My grandmother (I called her Mom) was an awesome lady and she and my great-grandfather (her father) did the best they could to raise me right. Most of it took. Some of it just took a little longer to sink in.
I hated her f'n guts for many years, but finally got over that too
Such is life...

Home is exactly where you make it. Kudos Tracy.
And Mick, thanks for being the real thing. Purple heart. My hats off to you guys.
My best coworkers from the past, and the guys I had most fun with, were the Vietnam era Vets. Most retried now.....they knew how to have fun, and to work.
Oh I was a very angry young man for a while and did my share of feeling sorry for myself. But I got over that **** too. You deal with what life throws at you and move on.
Looking back now, I am very grateful I was not raised by her.

Been there. Heroin hopped up dad died when I was 5. Sad but cant imagine life if he survived either. Statistically we should be in jail or dead.
As we're talking about this subject I guess that's what I meant a while back when I said I see you guys involved in your kids' lives, activities and interests. Lou, Tracy, Craig, Mark2, Stan, etc. You guys are stand up and making their world better and by extension everyone else's.
Everything else aside, that's what being a man is about in my opinion.
