I'll have do draw on everyone's experience to do my kitchen. This spring I'm replasing my main power panel to 200 amp service. Gunna be my biggest project ever. Full gut job. Glad it's only a 12x12 kitchen. Doing it all myself.

Load centers are easy. Hard part is getting the meter out with out the power company bitching.
Depending on your age of house, grounding needs updated. So you need to put in possibly, a couple ground rods. That sucks too.

Yes. I have to increase the grounding rod to 5/8 and I will have that permitted. My neighbor is a contractor and agreed to do it. The rest will be done by me. All in code but prolly not permitted.

Never gone as far as replacing panels, just basic wiring to these basements, but it does sound like Dan knows what he is talking about on that part of the project. As for the rest of it, ask away.

We have a digital meter. Can't touch it without the man knowing about it.
