The bodybuilders getting ready for competition are under tremendous pressure to be as cut as possible. Your diet starts 6 weeks out and you have to cut carbs as you go, which affects your energy...which is a pain since you have to keep training. The week of the show you start to reduce water intake to dry out. By the time they step on stage they are starved (except for a carb loading phase right before) and thirsty as hell...yet they still smile. I miss the heavy weight training I did. I did not train for bodybuilding, I trained for bulk...I averaged 3600 calories a day. I trained twice a day. Cardio in the morning and weights int he afternoon.

Looking buffed there Mark II! How does that compare to 2015?
It's hard these days for me to belive I once had 19" biceps and benched close to 400. This getting old **** sucks...

Impressive. Remind me to mind my manners when I'm around you.
My son is a nutritionist/physical trainer. He says those people get to low enough fat and hydration levels to the point of collapse.
Not for me.

Back then I was at 238 with 18" arms with chest and shoulders that filled and slightly stretched an XXL t-shirt. I had to twist my upper body to go through the narrow bathroom doors, more so than most of you do unknowingly now.
Now...I am a scant 205 and an XL shirt fits just dandy. Most of my muscle is gone because of that injury and diabetes (Type 2).
