Mornin Mike! Mornin TOAK'ers!
Audio Fest was neat, but not as exciting as it was last year. Once you've seen all that expensive home stereo equipment the first time its not as amazing. And when you can't afford most of the equipment being shown ($1050 ear buds, $5000 for a cheap set of speakers, $19,900 amplifiers) you do feel pretty good about owning a Harley. The new move this year is media servers. Imagine all your music and movies on a computer about the size of power inverter that you plug into your car power port. Cool idea but expensive how they had them set up.
Their big attraction yesterday was playing a mono recording of The Beatles White Album on a phonograph using a needle designed for mono records (Yeah, WTF?). I didn't "get it" and left that room to walk around after the first side of the first record.
And there was literally only 2 hot broads there (Sorry, no pics as they were constantly swarmed by nerds). Most everyone else looked like some variation of Comic Book Guy from The Simpsons.
Well, there's your dork report...what did I miss yesterday?
