Morning break time.
Last nite the laser thermo meter said overheat after briefly showing 1003* F on the wood coals. This morning, 45. It rained... Coulda covered it with an old metal door I have, but worried something would melt.
Really lights up the back yard, probably oughta just do the burns in daylight, might get some folks excited at night. The coals were still glowing when i went to bed. Bet there was quite a steam plume for a while when it started to rain. The concrete block perimeter works real good, keeps the fire from "walking" downwind, leaving unburned wood upwind, just shove the longer branches in as they burn.

Moldie, there's gotta be some kinda law against that. Contributing to global warming, polluting the atmosphere, fumigating the Monarch butterfly in Mexico or sumtin'.....
