the 'ol ''floating'' floor trick....seen it in action...looks too good to be real....thats not a bad thing.

Yeah, I've done prefinished nail down real oak in the kid's houses. Cost was about the same as having carpet installed since there was no labor charges. I used floting real wood laminate in my son's family room over the concrete and it has held up great, but it wasn't cheap.

Stuff looks decent and I got it on closeout for $1.05 s.f. which is really cheap. Only going in Living Room and Dining room. Upstairs floors are in great condition.

just keep it dry....if soaked it could warp....but they prolly fixed that problem by now.....last time I bought it was '94

Living room and dining room should be dry. Ran some chalk lines and was surprised on how parallel the walls were over 25', off by 1/2". problem is that there's no continuous wall to start off. Main wall has a bay area in it and opposite wall has some jogs in it.
