Maybe 80 pounds? Not sure but I move it around by myself. Just a tad awkward. Lighter than pine of the same dimension. Its been sitting outside drying for two years.

Read up on Ural years before you get one. Here's some things to consider.
Mid 98, first electric starter. My first one was an early 98, no electric. I think that sideways (kicks away from the bike, not parallel to it) BMW style kickstarter is a pita to use. Mebbe my feet are just too big...
Think it was 01 or 02, new motor, 750cc. Earlier 650 had an oval valve cover, 750 is squared off a little at the ends, pinched in the middle. I don't feel much difference in acceleration, 750 probably pulls hills better. Supposed to be a way better motor, though.
Think it was 05 they got front disk brakes. You don't want anything older than 05 for this reason, way better brake. My 07 has an even better Brembo brake up front, best brake I've ever felt on a bike of any kind.
The alternators up to early 750s are sometimes called electric grenades. Another reason to get 05 and up. 07 is supposed to have a way better Italian alternator. My 98 won't even run a higher output headlight - I tried, the alternator actually made a groaning noise.
I think the tractor style seats suck. My 98 has one. The dual conventional seat on my 07 is surprisingly comfortable.
No matter how fast people may tell you these things can go, you're probably over redline by 70mph. They're not interstate machines.
People take the 2 wheel drive models in ridiculously rough terrain. Ok, they'll do it, but mine bounce all over the place on anything rougher than a smooth lawn. Both of mine are single wheel drive, and that'll take you anywhere you want without bruising your ***. Which brings us to snow...
Snow - do they salt where you live? These are Russian steel, they rust horribly when exposed to salt. The guy that took these pics told me he only rode it one winter here. Used to be an 05.
They have straight cut gears, no synchros, clunk shifting, wait... you're used to Harleys, ok, not a big deal. You can hear mine from the sidecar in these videos with the grandkid.
There's a way to search all Craig's List:
http://www.searchcraigslist.org/
search "ural", then change "relevance" in upper right corner to "date", or you'll be going through pages of old expired listings.
This is like my 98, think he's dreaming about the price.

Not a bad price for an 05. Has the tractor seat, new dual saddle is around $350.

My 07 colors, but it's 2 years older and he's asking more than I paid. Another tractor seat and has conventional forks. These work, and you can ride the bike without the sidecar ok, but I like the feel of the sidecar only leading link front forks on my 07. I've heard you don't want to try riding a leading link fork equipped Ural on two wheels, but why would you want a Ural without the sidecar anyway? Conventional forks wouldn't be a deal breaker for me. It does have the higher backed deluxe seat like my 07, and they are substantially more comfortable than the basic low back seat.

This looks like the best current buy. I wonder why he's selling it so cheap. The painted motor/trans is probably a good idea, some of the engine parts rust easy.

I don't think any of these are 2 wheel drive models, hard to tell from pics, you'd have to ask. If you can see the right side of the rear wheel, the drive shaft shaft is obvious.

Sure hope that's dried enough, be a shame if it warped. Makes a good looking table. What did you finish it with? Don't know what the current finishes are popular today, I used Watco oil when I was more into woodworking in the 70's and 80's.

Raw its worth between $1500-2000. Finished about $3000 give or take.

Redwood is a bitch for finishes. Indoors I could use many things. Outdoors and glossy finish will loose adhesion. I used the tried n true 100% pure Tung oil. First coat is cut 50% with turpentine to draw deeper in the wood. 2 weeks between coats of pure Tung oil. Needs at least 5 coats of Tung oil and re apply every year after the initial 5 applications.
I re did this old 450 for another department and the slab was a gift for a job well done.

Moldie, thanks for the information.Pretty much goes with what I've found out in the little bit I've researched them. I'm lookin' for a '06, preferably '07 and up and definitely 2 wheel drive. I wanna ride in the snow!!! Lotsa salt on these roads but I'll havta deal with it. Have a couple calls out to a few within easy driving distance. One is a '12 GearUp for $5,100....price doesn't seem right . Another local one an '06 for $6,000 . picture but no description so I don't know what it is.
