We're a two unit plant Tick. Most old coal plants are multi-unit(up to 9) that ran 200-300 megawatts each. Both of ours run 1300 megawatts, at full load
Little cooler today, high 50's, gotta get on the bike in a few minutes. Snow starts tomorrow, and the forecast is 6-12" by Saturday morning, a long one. Mebbe I can get a snow ride tomorrow nite before the plows ruin it. 60's to the deepest snow of the season (maybe) in two days. Crazy weather. I like it.

The power plant 5 miles up the road from me. Clay Boswell plant. Has 4 units.
Units 1&2 are each 65 mw. Unit 3 is 355 mw and unit 4 is 585 mw. Units 1&2 are being shut down permanently by the end of 2018. They all run on coal.
Yeah, coal is a dying industry. We're too cheap to run, and flexibility of our output, for them to shut us down anytime soon. My guess is another 15-20 years out of her
