Poser's Coffee House, All Bullshit Accepted, Part VII
Neighbor's F250, V10 gas, just got back on a car hauler. Said it poured white smoke and lost power, has water in oil (milky). Mechanic that took a look told them needs a new engine because water in the oil takes out the engine bearings. ??? I've replaced two blown head gaskets, and one cracked head in past years, changed the oil, and never had a problem with the bearings.
I'd think a compression test to find out which bank has the leak, and a head gasket might be enough, but I'm not experienced on the electronic engines, either. They've had a couple quotes from $7000 to $10,000 for putting in a rebuilt motor. Seems excessive to me,.
