It was -35 when I got off werk at 3:30pm one day, and if I never feel anything colder, that's fine with me. A lot of folks don't know that cars tend to overheat in those temps because their antifreeze turns to slush and won't circulate. A lot of cars in the parking lot boiled over while they were letting them warm up - the steam will blow the slush out. Or the radiator blows, or a freeze plug pops; whatever, puddles of green or yellow under the motors, back before the orange stuff.

Thank God for this global warming. It doesn't get -35 as much now days as it did 40 years ago.

Checkin' in....just got back from an unexpected 50 mile motorsickle ride in 28-30* temps. Son finds a newly posted 2012 Switchback, ABS and security, detachable backrest and V &H exhaust, never in rain owned by a 60some y/o guy..with 2200 miles on it. Guy was askin' $11,000 and negotiated $9800 if my son would take it today with cash! List on the bike new was just about $17K. All the company pickups were loaded up with salt for tonight, small trailer had a problem. Son asks laughing, "Dad, will you ride it home?"..."of course!!!"....heated gear to the rescue!!! Toes got a little nippy. Bike is like brand new.....

not so cold, but we're older now, so it hurts more

and 30 years ago, if faded memory still serves, not so many cops, or laws...now where's that dumb hell-mitt...I forget...

sure wish I'd worn that thing on my left knee...

Ultimate ruski motorcycle...I can buy that. But there are zillions of old Soviet fiats with V4 air-cooled engines and a few die-hards build choppers from those combined with Ural parts... Totally bitchen! They can be seen on YT, but they're hard to find....

The fiat trannys couple right up to the Ural shaft. About 40 hp in stock form, but beautiful! And sound awesome!

Those Urals have more mechanical noise than any other motorsickle I've ridden. You can hear some of the racket on this video, and if you think Harleys clunk into gear... And the grandkid that never stops talking...
