ffl people can drive thru states with strict gun laws and still be cc legal.......just throwing it out there, might not be a bad thing......dippy president hasn't a clue.

 

News article this morning supporting more gun laws had a buncha graphs. One showed gun buying is way up. Another one showed homicides dropping a bunch in the last 15 years. I wondered if it was printed upside down, since that doesn't support the idea of more guns more crime. So... a little research. It ain't what we're hearing from politicians and reading on CNN...

We have by far the most guns! Wrong, when it's reported as per capita (often); we have the most guns, but per capita we're passed by several countries, some of which don't even allow handguns.

We're 17th in the world for homicides as a percentage of population. That's the worst graph, at least one other puts us in the 30's. Can't find any that make us the worst.

What race shoots more people than all the others combined? Uh, I ain't gonna go there. But by race and about any other category, white cops are right down there at the bottom; you're more likely to be shot by your wife. Way more likely...

About that homicide rate dropping a bunch in the last 15 years - 2013 is about the same as 1963. For a couple decades, it did go up a bunch. Ain't much worse now than it was 100 years ago.

Only gun statistic I can find that puts the U.S. ahead of all other countries is total gun ownership, and all of those are supposedly owned by 47% of the population. Would be interesting to see the crime rate if we could talk the other 53% into getting guns for a year, too. Well, the ones that could get them legally, of course.

 

We got a jumper on I-65. Climbed the sign and is hanging on it saying he's gonna jump.

 

I wonder what these guys would do if everyone just walked away and they lost their audience?

 

That's something to think about. They got 65 shut down both directions and PD and FD, news crew. everywhere.
