Lotta shiny new bikes coming out of the 3 car garages lately. Went to the dealer for some parts and thought it was a village people reunion....

I wear my Harley jacket while riding my sportbike.

What is a wallet biker? Is that the same as a fair weather rider?

I noticed the same thing weekend before last. It warmed up a bit and all the fair weather riders were out. You'd have sworn they were filming a new episode of Pirates of the Carribean out at the poser bar.

It's funny to me how these dudes completely change their personalities and put on their alter egos. Dress up like they're going out trick or treating and stand around admiring how each other look, taking pictures of each other, and posing thinking people really give a rats azz. It makes me throw up a little. I just motor on through and leave the area, don't participate in that. Never been a "lookat me" kind of guy.

I was at Menards the other day buying some hardware for the shop, and a guy walks past me wearing what had to be $2000 worth of shiny HD branded gear. Hat, coat, shirt, jeans, chaps, boots. glasses on his head, and fingerless gloves. All looked brand new. I followed him through the checkout line and into the parking lot where he had parked a couple spots from me. He walked past the Harley Davidson sitting there, and got into his Buick Regal and drove away. I couldn't even think of anything to say, it left me speechless.

I can't imagine there being an offseason in SLO. I grew up in Monterey / Salinas area and can't think of when it would be too cold to ride. Maybe a handful of days but not enough to keep off the roads all winter like out here.

Quick Reply: Looks like all the wallet bikers are back on the road.
