Default Just how stupid can someone be?

A year or so ago I bought an air horn from Peterson HD in North Miami. I also had them install it as I wanted it right away to replace a broken one.

The other day the horn stopped working and I found a bared wire near it. I Reconnected the wire and it still wouldn't work. Today I went to check the in-line fuse that under the seat like the previous horn. After a bitch of a time getting the rider backrest off because the hinge was jammed, I look for the fuse and can't find it. I take the battery cover off and start accounting for accessory wires attached. I find the right one and it leads up under the freaking gas tank. So the clown that installed it has it sitting under the tank so to replace the fuse, the tank needs to come off. What a stupid ***!

My last few encounters with service there were less than memorable. I would buy another bike there if they had the best price, but I'm done with the service department.

I think I'd rather blow a fuse than blow a seal....

The horn wire normally comes from under the tank.

If you want it done right, do it yourself.

You may not have to actually remove the tank, just remove your seat and undo the two tank bolts and loosen the front bolt behind the neck and lift the tank from the lower end where you removed the two bolts, may have to prop it a bit with something.

If the air horn is installed correctly there is a relay. Those relays have been known to fail.
