Default So who's tripping in 2013?

I see a Sturgis 2013 trip forming, but where else is anyone planning on heading next year? I've done this trip and love the area.

I'm slowly forming my thoughts for a 8-10 day excursion, all back roads, with no particular destination in mind yet. Not sure that is enough time to make it all the way to the west coast and back unless it is on the throttle most of the time. Also considering this excursion to be all camping along the way.

So.... who's going where next year? Say somewhere between May and August?

Maybe I'll just throw a stick down and head to where it points. Do that for 5-6 days and then figure out how to beat-feet home again.

Lobster omlet in Bar Harbor Maine anyone? (for example).

Since your contemplating I will offer some unsolicited input.

Connect the dots and you'll get the idea and trim it down to 8-9 days.

Who knows. With any luck at all you may get lost for a couple days.

I'm hoping to get two trips in this year if things work out. One to the midwest, and one to the northeast.

Need to get a quick (one day) visit in to see my parents in Massachusetts then force my brother to ride to the White Mountains in New Hampshire with me. He's never done real long distance (but is a very experieced rider as he was a motor cop for a while and his traning was a 2 week course).

This trip would look something like:

Blue Ridge Mountains
Pocono Mountains PA
Catskill Mountains NY
Berkshire Mountains MA
White Mountains NH
Green Mountains VT

Staying away from 95 when possible.

I have been wanting a really good adventure myself lately. But you know my job and what a pain it is to plan anything but if you settle on something let me know. More toward august away from the holidays and summer vacation ending gives me a better chance at getting the time off.
Bar Harbor sounds interesting never been further than Prattsville NY up that way. But whatever works for you. Camping sounds fun and economical too.
Perhaps a North East part of the great lakes loop, but we are not in to good a starting point for that but Maine is a good jumping off for part of it on the way back.
Any way just spit balling but keep us in the loop I want to see something new this year!

I have that box checked already. LOL Sturgis is a wonderful experience and has awesome riding all around the area. I will do it again sometime, but next year is going to be something different.

The Ozarks and then to Arizona are on the list for sure. Just maybe not yet.

When Jeff threw all those links up; got me thinking about Gettysburg PA (again). That can be almost an entire trip of twisties (leaving Georgia) up and back. A full-time run through the Appalachian Mountains could be fun.
