Cloudy day today with a persistent chance of rain kept us closer to home today. We decided to go check out the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame today.

Really cool place, my first time there. Dawsonville, BTW, is right along moonshine alley (Route 9), which is where all the bootleggers ran their whiskey out of the North Georgia Mountains during Prohibition. A lot of folks say this area are the roots of NASCAR racing back when a tuned-up car could out-run the police cars.

It was FUN riding our motorcycles down moonshine alley after visiting the museum!

 

Do they sell WALLACE FOR PRESIDENT plates there?

 

Not that I saw....but that's why I took the picture. LOL

Haven't been there, but in 03 went to Bill Elliot's place in Dawsonville.

 

WADE! Where is Wade. We need to do this Wade. and Jay can come to.

 

Yup, I go right by his place on numerous rides, which includes a private runway for his jet.

Jay and Lucy have been here, heck, Lucy hails from right around here. I figured that Wade would want to put this place on his museum tour. LOL You guys are always welcome for a guided tour of the area.

Passed by Elliots place today and it looked like it had seen better days. I remember going to the Pool Room as a kid and watching races, if Bill won, Mr Pirkle would sound the siren!
