Exclamation FOB Alert

Hope you all had a great Memorial Day. I had to be at work in the afternoon, but decided to take a short ride in the morning. But my ride was DELAYED, because the battery in my security FOB was DEAD. Lucky for me, my spare FOB was not far away.
So if you have the HD security system, think about dropping a spare "CR 2032" battery in your saddlebag toolkit. These things die without warning!

If you look in your owners manual there is a way to enter a code to start your bike with a security code of the FOB battery dies.

If you know the code and it can only be changed with the FOB present.

You set it to a code you will remember. It tells you how in the manual.

Preaching to choir brother. Already done that to mine and carry the instructions on me. I wonder though how many others have. I understand some dealers change it from the default to either their zip code or the last five digits of the VIN. On the 2 I have changed the default was 31010 just like in the owners manuel but I have been told the default is suppose to be 11111. Who knows. Also my garage door opener on my bike has the same battery as the FOB.

I am the kind of guy that has been known to wear a belt and suspenders.

Mine was 11111 when my first battery died. Try to change them once a year after that incident.

If you get stranded some where. You can contact the MoCo and they can tell you how to override the system by a certain pattern tapping your turn signals.
