Look down when you ride (no floor on your bike). You did check the fluid level after...(bladder AND brake resevoir....)?

haha the floor was kind of a metaphor I guess ...
ended up nothing wrong with the brakes per se .. something about an error code pointing to the computer controlling the abs system .....
they electronically voy a bit the brake system and reset codes.

The service manager paul did tell me that starting the bike they noticed there was what sounds like a problem with the compensator nut ...
I have no idea what that means .... but he did say if I don't get it fixed, I could end up stranded ... said it is about a 4 hour job. but covered under warranty until the end of may.

I have no idea either, but it makes me wonder if it's the same thing as the stick actuator in a fighter jet. Just askin.

Had my comp replaced, rode from Montana with a bad comp, replaced it with a stocker up in Soldatna, had Petersons put teh SE comp upgrade in when I got back, smoothed out teh whole drivetrain, the 11's are coming with the SE Comp stock now. Have then do teh upgrade and only pay the diff in parts.

Your title of the thread made me jump steve, glad to hear it wasn't anything fatal or put you in danger. Glad you found out in casual braking rather than emergency situation.

Mark this one up as electronics that are supposed to make things better actually doing just the opposite.

Compensator nut has to do with the primary drive and it "compensates" for abrubt changes without initiatiting it into the gear that would cause damage.

The 'ol gal has been torn down (when I replaced the tranny) and that bolt needs to be at 50 ft. lbs. that's a hell of a lotta torque! Hard to believe it could go bad, but then again, it's a HD. I would do it under warranty with that guy before he gets laid off, quits or becomes another statistic of the economy.

You sure he didn't say he was compensating for the nut riding it?
