Coming from Virginia he would be on 95, if he is going to cross the state, and take 75, then a good way to go would be to take 27 south after Ocala. Also HOV lanes in Dade County are free for motorcycles, but talk about crazy, if your doing under 80 you'll get ran over, as said before the further south the crazier the drivers so be careful and ride safe.

Turnpike might be dull scenery wise but if want to get down to the Keys in a hurry that's the way to go .. Just keep money in easy reach when stop at toll booths..

Default Don't Know

Don't know about the toll system, but if traveling the Florida Tpke. be prepared to scoot 70-80 in the right hand lane just to keep out of everyones way. Nice looooooooooooong ride! ENJOY!!

Yes, will be coming down I-95 from Virginia. We do plan to take Rt 41 and I-75 on the return trip for the scenery and something different. Going down we will be on a "schedule" since we have reservations at Key Largo and Key West. Plan to leave from Jacksonville on the second day so should be travelling the turnpike by/thru Miami in the early afternoon.

Yeah, I had a brain fart. Still, maybe he'll get the time to ride a little of it.

I-95 is fine through North Florida. But Fort Pierce is a good place to make your jump to the Turnpike. You can gas up, grab a bite (Cracker Barrel, etc). You can save a few bucks by staying on 95 further south, but the TP is a smoother ride.

Dudes, TP toll booths are non-existent. Let him just run through the sunpass like he mentioned registering his plate in advance. This is what DOT prefers anyhow to eliminate traffic (thus accidents) while still collecting revenue.

YeS, I agree, Florida's road tolls are not cheap at all. I found this useful article
http://www.sixtblog.com/travel-advic...da-toll-roads/ it looks updated and easy to follow, hope it helps. Enjoy your road trip!

Jimmy130.... Your'e a little late for this party. The last, previous post to yours was 2 two years ago. I'm betting his trip is a distant memory at this point. But thanks for playing.
