Greg
It doesn't matter how you get here as long as you make it.

The Pup is planning on going...trying to save my vacation time (and money) I think I can average 50 MPH ...it will be awesome to have a fair size Fl Crew group ride to AZ...at this point I'm thinking I will leave a day earlier and ride up to wherever everybody is gonna meet up north and spend the night...yeah I know it's still a year away, but making plans helps pass the time....

I will take the scenic route through the Ozarks then the hill country of Texas, hit El Paso then up into NM, Ruidoso, Cloudcroft, Sante Fe then over to Ariz. I will add to this scenic ride as I think more about it. planning 3 - 4 days out then 2 -3 days back.

I have my brother talked into flying in from Boston and renting a bike to ride with us in AZ. If I can not get two weeks off I will do the same.

I am not real good at math....but if we ride 70 MPH for five hours, and stop to eat/gas up and whatever for an hour, our average is 58 MPH (70X5devidedby6=58). If we stop for the night somewhere.....add those 'none moving' hours into the equasion. Average speed can drop pretty quick. Say we ride 70 MPH for 10 hours and devide that by 24 (one day)...sleeping/eating/buying a t-shirt)...that averages 29 MPH for the day.
Is that math correct?
(I am only going to Texas, so I can ride half as fast as you all and get there at or about the same time you get to Arizona...quanset hut physics.)

Chuck I think the 50 MPH average was just for the day not counting sleeping at night.

One time I averaged 138 mph during the day and 3,000 mph at night but it was acid induced and may not count.
