Never happen Rick.

Cahrley can you not find a replacement quickly? Try KC international.

Most likely it was a case of Twisty Fatigue.

I had my fork tubes off rebuilding them yesterday. I got everything back together and snugged in place then got out the torque wrench, set it to 34#'s ( specs are 30 - 35 ft #), tightened the first 2 pinch bolts fine but when I got to the third, the tree cracked where it wraps around the tube next to the pinch bolt.

When you do it the right way, using a torque wrench, this chit leaves you scratching your a$$.

I ride the Jacksonville west-side version of twisties every day leaving and entering my neighborhood. 4 curves in slightly less than 400 ft.

I am glad that it happened up on the jack instead of while you were barreling down the road.... Glad you found a new one so fast as well. See you soon.
