Need helmet advice...

As mentioned earlier, try a helmet and if it fits, keep it on for 30 minutes. You can walk around the shop. If it still feels comfortable, it should be fine to wear while riding.
1/2, 3/4, full, it all depends on what you are comfortable with and willing to risk. 1/2 is good, but will not protect your face from bugs/debris, smacking your chin on the pavement and/or from getting road rash. 3/4 gives more protection, but not full protection. The full mask on the other hand should protect your face and chin.
I like riding with my 1/2, but I also ride with my full (modular) helmet.
I understand how people love to ride without one. But, I enjoy riding too much to risk serious injury, in which can prevent me from ever riding again.

flagril (Christine) That is the exact helmet I have the HJC I-16 with the inner visor and as I said I love it but the tips on the visor which attaches to the track keeps breaking off without me touching them for cleaning or removing. I have had three of them break off, have you had any problems like that? I think mine is defective and I guess I will have to go back to HJC.

I haven't had any problems with the visor or helmet and have about 2500 miles on it so far. I don't clean the inner visor, just the outer one, maybe that's why?

A full face helmet would be nice to keep your face in place....but as some of us saw on TV a month or so ago...that woman that had her face bitten off by a friends chimpanzee,
never saw it coming. How can you protect your self from a chimpanzee attack?
How about the woman a couple days ago killed by a fish that jumped into her rib cage in a kayak?
I am a firm believer that what don't kill you, amazes me.
(one of the number one causes of injuries in America is 'bathroom showers'....wear a helmet y'all.)
