Well - a week ago today I had my first crash.. Street glide vs. minivan.. Long story short = not fun ... a few stitches later .. No bike, wife that continues to say no bike .

Searching the internet I found this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAYmnjwYsNM

Its a jacket with an airbag built in! Good idea but not 100% sure it really would work

interesting concept. doesn't do much for the rider that gets hit by a vehicle, tho.

Sorry to hear about your mishap. Wonderful that you are here to write about it.

No way is an airbag jacket in my future. Just not for me.

Take the MSF course, or if you have already, take the Advanced Rider's Course. I am much better "protected" with knowledge now.

Learning the statistical probabilities of when-where-how will make you a better rider against the minivans of this world.

Good luck with sweet-talking your way back on the bike.

Sounds interesting. Maybe it will go with my swim goggles.

Sorry to hear about your accident. Glad it was only a few stitches and not worse. Hopefully Wifey will come around soon.

I think the air bag jacket is really innovative and I can see where it would be wonderful to have on in some scenarios. I bet it saves some riders necks and the potential for harm reduction is huge. I wish them the best of luck. I would say the next obvious step would be to make a suit that resembles the "Michelin Man" when deployed. Full body rings, Hmmmmmmm.

Bummer on the accident and the wife's reaction but glad to hear you are OK. AirBag coats are an OK idea.. I wouldn't wear one, but I bet if they made affordable kid sizes, many people would buy them....
