Default Planning a day trip to Mt. Dora

My wife and I are planning a day trip to Mt. Dora next weekend to sort of scout for an extended weekend vacation sometime in the future. Does anyone have advice for places to eat or even a B&B there.

She is a freak when it comes to planning trips and is already on the computer using “trip adviser”. Hell, we got back from a Jamaica trip a couple months ago and that night was on the computer searching for a cruise for us to take next year.

I figure we will leave Jacksonville not too early in the am and plan to be back home by 5 or 6 if we can get one of the kids to stop in and let the dogs out for a couple hours.

Any excuse for a ride!

For a "with wife" thing, you might want to check out the Lakeside Inn

Mt Dora is only 100 - 200 miles from you, thats a morning breakfast ride with the wife. You need to get your butt and bike down here to wisit N Cuba. Just leave the kids some C rations and water they will figure out what to do.

We just put the food and water out in bowls and let them fend for themselves.... family services scheduled a visit to check up on us Next weekend.

We finally headed out around 10:30 and escaped most of the showers. Mt. Dora was ok.... It's about the ride though.

I turned over 900 miles since picking it up on the 14th and I still can't get much more than 60 miles, if that, before I HAVE to get off buttttt that is for another thread I suppose.

Ride Safe guys.

Mt Dora is a nice ride if you take 17-19. That's the route we take when we visit friends down there

Flash back... in the 60's my father was the chef of a resort in the White Mountains, NH.

One winter the Green Berets parachuted into the mountains for survival training. My father ended up feeding them all at the restaurant for free, and the owner of the resort put them up in motel rooms. At the end of the "mission" they had all their "C" rations left. Needing to "get rid of them" they gave them all to my father. We had cases and cases of small army green cans of peanut butter that lasted ages.
