Hey folks coming to Florida for the Peterson Key West Run , can you guys/gals recommend a good "Beach" place (hotel) between St. Aug. and FT.Lauderdale? Have to stay a couple of nights . Thanks!

 

How about one of the nicer hotels on the beach right by Main St. in Daytona Beach? There is a Hilton right there and 100 others.

 

There are about a gazillion options between those 2 spots, it all depends on your desired travel time. Daytona, Cocoa, Melbourne.... they ALL have the hotel stretches.

 

Daytona is only 50 minutes south of ST Aug....Vero Beach is another 2-3 hours.
I stayed at a nice place called Capt Hirams near Sebastion Inlet/Vero Beach.
$119 a night. Nice tikibar area....good entertainment. Half a mile North from Earls!
Ride seven miles south take bridge over to the ocean and ride north to Cocoa Beach.
Vero is like, the halfway point to Miami area.

I can second the Capt Hirams.
I am doing the run to Key West as well. Keep in mind that Hirams to Miami will be at least 3 hours. If that factors into how long you want to ride before the 4 hours from Miami to Key West you may want to stay on the beach in Lauderdale. There is a great place called Pirate Republic Bar too.
Tons of Hotels and all along the beaches.

I also go along with Vero Beach .. about halfway in between St Aug and Lauderdale and get halfway decent rates for being on the Coast ..
