That is the problem. I don't have the new one, I don't have a US birth certificate and lost my passport years ago. This could get ugly...

This is a real PITA...I have a birth certificate...but...it's from the hospital...not good enough for the State of Florida...I just had to pay 75 buckolas to get a "certified" copy from my home state...I mean for crying out loud I've only had a valid drivers license in FL for the last 40 years....all of a sudden they don't know who I am?

 

Why do we as Americans have to prove anything to anyone.

Well tomorrow or Thursday I will head down with a stack of paperwork and hope it is good enough. Otherwise, it will be off to the passport office to go that route first.
