Well I've GOT a DD-214 (Several of the actually), and I had to qual for 4 years straight to carry a 9MM while standing watch on the USS John F Kennedy. Will all that get my paperwork routed through faster? Wanna get something to conceal, that shoots bullets.!?

 

I feel real sorry for anyone that messes with Jerry like that.

 

I sent in a copy of one of my qualification forms and it didn't speed up the process.

The problem you may encounter these days is the backlog of applications the Dept. of Agriculture has to process.

I guess regardless of what you have or who you know the bureaucracy involved always seems to slow things down.

 

vic, did you got to the license office or just submit hard copy? Mine was at 7 days at teh license office, and that was not that long ago.

+1 I got mine in just under 2 weeks. Make an appointment and go to the regional office. It's a one stop shop, they do the application, finger prints and photo and there is no additional cost. All you need is proof you took the course (or a DD-214 for you military guys) and your ID. Check out the link below.

When I requested my license (Feb 2008) the only way to do it was to submit the paperwork to Tallahassee. I guess since they've had such an influx of applications they started accepting them through their local offices. 7 days is outstanding. Mine too a good month.
