Be sure to check out eBay. I'm fortunate enough (working for a software company) that I am suppleid with a top of the line laptop, as well as high powered server. But my wife's laptop took a dump a while back and I got her a rebuilt desktop for about 285.00 (no monitor) on eBay. It has 120 GIG hard drive, 2 GIG of RAM, and a double Pentium proccessor. The extras (keyboard, mouse, speakers) were big time crap.... but the PC was a good deal.

 

Thanks, but I have learned my lesson on buying used electronics. I have my kids' puter for now. They are not happy though.
