I am leaving out early Saturday morning for Andersonville, GA. National Historic Site. Anyone wants to ride along please jump in here and we can figure out where to meet.
It is 300 miles each way from Ocala, so figure accordingly. At six hours one way I won't have long to spend at the museum or stop for breaks, but what the heck. It is all about the ride. I am gonna Google a route north through a bunch of two-lane roads, hopefully paved, and head on up.
That looks like a cool place. If I wern't so far south I would ride!!
Yep, I agree, and if it wasn't the height of summer and running through S. Georgia when the 100+ temps are cooking your brains. Sounds like a much more enjoyable ride in the Spring or Fall.

I fried my brain years ago with a lot more than those 100+ Ga. temps, guess this won't hurt!!
Wish I was up for it. I got put down by the heat while building my grandsons tree house a couple weeks ago. Still not over it. Hope to be up for my Kentucky ride the 15th. gonna take it easy till then. Have a safe ride.
no problem Bob. Hope you get to feeling better soon! I guess I will head on out early Saturday and ride on up by myself, will miss you on the ride though.
Was just in NJ for the week, can you believe they keep their windows OPEN! and actually sit outside IN THE SUN!!! It is gorgeous up there. No wonder you guys bitch about the heat so much, I never knew any different!
(Yes I'm a Florida Native, a poor one that never travels)
Seeferdog, Would have liked to join you on this but I have to fly out to Chattanooga early Sunday, pick up a car and drive back the same day. If I didn't have to do that than we would be hooking up in Ocala. Enjoy the ride.
This is an amazing place. I would highly recommend it. Very much an experience you won't forget. 600.9 miles from leaving the garage to pulling back in. Great day.
