Unfortunately it's true. Ridge HD is closing due to the downturn in the economy. I just spoke to the folks in Lakeland. They say they will be consolidating the business in Lakeland. Some of the employees from Lake Wales will be moving to the Lakeland store. This really sucks the folks that own Ridge and Lakeland are good people. Lakeland is an old bike shop and is still operated as such (no so much like a car dealership). They must have spent a bunch of money on the facility in Lake Wales. Hopefully all will turn out well.

 

just a side note here..Pineda HD just north of Melbourne has closed down also....Space Coast in Palm Bay is still open

 

It does suck, they had some pretty nice folks working at both shops. I did business with both Lakeland and the Lake Wales stores. Never cared too much for some of their salesmen, but it's a shame all the same. Lake Wales was a really nice shop and I'm sure it will sit empty for a long time.
