Jennifer and I are going to head out to Lightsey's restaurant on 78 south of Okeechobee (10430 State Road 78 W) Saturday and get some lunch and peach cobbler (main reason for the trip).

We are going to leave Ocala around 7:30. With gas stops and water breaks it should put us there around 11:45 - 12:00. If anyone would like to meet us there for lunch or meet up along the way and ride on in please let me know and we can plan on it.

If anyone wants, maybe we can go for a short ride after lunch in the area as well. I have never ridden these roads other than 27 - 98 to go to the restaurant.

 

Wow Sefferdog! I eat there every chance I get. I like order to the pound of fried oysters and substitute the hush puppies for pumpkin bread. They sure know how to cook seafood, frog legs, and gator tail. Only about 30 minutes from my house. I have something going on this weekend, but will try to fanagle it to have lunch with ya.

 

Hope you can make it Mike. Derek is working, I am guessing, since he had last Saturday off.

Jennifer and I used to ride down there and eat every few months, but haven't in awhile. Last weeks ride with everybody down that way whetted our appetites. I love their catfish, as well as the aforementioned cobbler, lol!!!

I had oysters, shrimp, and steamed clams. Also introduced Sefferdog and Jennifer to a piece a pumpkin bread Jay. Good company for a good meal.

 

Hey Mike, I will second the good company/good meal. Thanks for joining us for a great lunch. The pleasure certainly belonged to Jennifer and I. 400 miles for a lunch and the friendship is a real bargain in my book!!

We dodged rain all the way back, hit just a few sprinkles in Leesburg, and got home safe and dry. Next time we go I will post up sooner, this was kinda sorta a last minute thing.....
