Kelly and I vacationed at Everglades City last year. The run down the Tamiami Trail was great. Thousands of alligators!

Doubled up the chairs, and none broke this time! 'Course, Jeremy wasn't there, though.

Great Pics! Made me look fat, though.

Yesterday I brought my woife out for breakfast on the Tamiami Trail. We stopped at a restaurant outside of Shark Valey. Roundtrip it was 100 miles. I menation to my wife that Marco Island was only about 20 miles further than our round tip.

We are now considering staying at the Marriott on Marco Island for our 15th anniversary next month. My question to those of you that made the cross state trip: What is beyond the Shark Valley area.... do the roads stay more of the same? Are there areas to stop and eat / gas up after that? Any towns in between, or is it all Glades?

Thanks

Depending on where you stopped, Shark Valley is about 1/2 way across the Everglades. So at 100 miles across, you're in Marco Island or Naples. Plenty of gas, restaurants, hotels, beaches, whatever.
