Default Who had the engine noise/bad lifter?

Yeah, not that kinda lifter, there are pills for that

The engine noise on my scoot has been getting worse and wondering if it is the same as the guy here that had a noise and wound up being one of his lifters. I want to talk to this guy and see if it's the same noise.

My noise sounds like a can of pebbles or ball bearings in a coffee can being shaken. Especially at low speed upon rolling on the throttle. It's heard all throughout the rpm range but noticed most at low speeds.

Any input appreciated. this guy is not a regular, but chimes in once in a while ive seen.

Just had the lifters on My 08 FLHT replaced under warrenty last month (26,000 MI.) Mine made that same noise but only when cold. After a few minutes of running they quieted down.

Phil, are you sure it's lifters and not a detonation issue? A bad MAP sensor could cause your ignition timing to be to far advanced. I'm assuming your running 93 octane with the super charger and it's been doing it for more than 1 tank of fuel?

TJD, you are on to something. I was also told the best way to eliminate the most noise from a Harley is to leave your wife at home.

PS - Phlip get the new 09 Touring Bike
