Default Decel Pop - Dealership Can't Figure it Out -- Who Can?

I've read all the HD forums I can find about decel popping... most say a good tune will help. Not in my case. I picked up a 15 FXDWG four months ago and it's been back at the dealership 3 times already. They can't seem to fix it. Where do i go to find someone who can fix it?

Info: V&H big radius, Stage 1 download & supertuner. Pops like a machine gun every time i let off the accelerator. I'm at the point where I don't mind taking it to a better mechanic, but I don't know any better ones in the Houston area.

Thanks for any suggestions. I just want to enjoy my bike without people diving for cover.

I suggest a touch of fuel at throttle close. And maybe baffles with a bit more restriction in them, like the V&H quiet baffles, if made for those, I can't remember.

forgive my ignorance, but what does "touch of fuel at throttle close" mean... give it more gas as i'm decelerating? it's a new bike, i shouldn't have to change the way i ride to make it sound normal, should i?

I'm sorry. Have whoever is tuning the bike to make the supertuner add some fuel to the injectors when the throttle is closed. This should cools the exhaust just a bit and the added fuel will burn and not explode (decel pop) when it enters the hot exhaust pipes.

You have an exhaust leak or throttle is not fully closing. Pipes are not restrictive enough. You can try DK Custom "lollipops" to test with.

thanks for the explanation... i'm not sure the mechanics at the dealership know what to do. they've tried it 3 times tuning it, no luck.. i have lot of friends who ride 103ci engine w/ aftermarket pipes, they have no problem with decel popping. i guess i just need to find a new mechanic.

As checkers said, also check all exhaust and intake fittings for tightness. A small leak in those areas will lean the mixture even more and contribute to the problem.
