Cool CT Flats

A couple months ago I had a flat on my CT on my 09 Ultra. Not sure how far I rode on the Interstate with a nail in the tire. Not too far I hope.

When getting off the big road, going through the clover leaf, I noticed the rear was a little wobbly. I made a U turn at the first light and pulled into a Honda dealer. They didn't want anything to do with a Harley there. Only way they would touch it was rim off the bike. At least they did let me have some air.
I rode back to the first gas station and bought right at 5.8 gallons of gas.(6 gallon tank on fumes) Then headed to Advance Auto down the road.
I bought a plug kit and borrowed a small compressor. I pumped the tire back up and put a plug in it. Pumped it up to 34 pounds and enjoyed the rest of the day. That has been a few thousand miles ago and I've not had to add any air.

How many others rode on a flat and now ride with a plug in their CT??

I use RIDE-ON in my tires. it balances the tire & also will plug up a 1/4" size hole. It's expensive but worth it. check it out www.ride-on.com

My first Dunlop SP5000 had three plugs for about 12,000 miles until the sidewall got cut. Never had a problem with the plugs, no air loss, no difference, lol. Now I carry a Slime plug kit and a small compressor in my saddlebag.

Regards,

One of these days I'm gonna get a small compressor to go with my plug kit. I just never think about it when at the store. Need to find a small one at a good price.

Thank you sir! I was surfing on my phone and it doesn't say which forum it was in. That said, I can't honestly testify that I would have been smart enough to figure it out even knowing that

I keep a plug kit & a small cheap compressor in my saddle bag all the time. It has come in handy a few times.
