Recruiting in Upstate NY, where I grew up.
I have done 17 yrs Active Duty and 2 Years Reserve.

 

Have Jr in Iraq right now, with the 82nd, in the airborne cav (new one for me ) 11C, between Bahgdad and Iran somewhere, joined after graduation, two weeks later at Benning for basic,AIT and Abn school, 6 months at Bragg in country since August. Hit by 2 IEDs, blew out ear drums and brain rattled a little, bleeding from ears, his Sgt injured pretty good in the leg, still wants to kick a$$. Hope on leave for two weeks over Christmas ( Sgts and Officers sent the young ones home first) he is a changed man, at 19. These kids are unbelievable. Me 8 years,7th ID, 3 rd ID, 4/1st InstBn,his mom 4 years also 7th IID and 3rd ID where she met me, he has two bronthers that are bigger and tougherthat will follow his path soon. God bless them all and give them the strength to destroy those that will destroy us.
