What kit are you going to use for your tach? When I was researching this, we figured out that the best way to go would be to get a top clamp off an XL or a Roadster and then have it powdercoated to use with the XL tach kit. Is that what you're going to do?

I have ordered from my dealer the tach kit P/N 67182-07, I'll use the clamp of a 1200 roadster P/N 56115-95.

 

Great Thanks for the confirmation of that and the part numbers. I am sure they will come in handy for anyone else who wants a tach on their Nighsters. Personally, I can't imagine riding a bike that didn't have one. Maybe one day when I get old. You know, when I am 31 or something. Oh wait!! That's in a month!

new here and have wanted to post these for a while, got hit by a car on my first harley when i was 20 and lost that onethen bought this one right after and couldnt be happier with any other bike...still more things i would like to do but for now here it is

 

No big mods yet but the Nightster is workin' hard with H-D Black Detachable Rack and Biker's Friend Roll Bag.
