Yep, that's why all five sportsters I've owned have had the big gas tanks.

So just to clarify - do you mean that you installed the primary sprocket/chain from the XL1200 ?

Yes, I did the crank gear, primary chain and Screaming Eagle clutch kit a couple years ago. I never had to pull the primary cover when I did the Screaming Eagle 1200 kit. Another interesting note was the tire size, The 1200T ran a taller back tire than what my 883 came with. I'm running the taller back tire also.

My memory fades, but I believe the last time I heard about this
you were having issues getting it fitted correctly ?
